While we we in Boundary Bay, Brittish Columbia for the 2011-2012 Snowy Owl invasion we saw both small groups and single individuals hunting the marsh. The marsh had 30 individuals that were being seen. Pictures just don't show how big these owls are. The Snowy Owl is the most massive owl in North America with up to 5 1/2 ft wing spans and about 60 oz in weight. Our trip to see the owls here was taken in the last couple days of 2011 and the first couple days of 2012. The number of these big owls in one place made a magnificent sight.
