This appears to be a young female Snowy Owl. The photo was taken on Amherst Island, which is east of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. The characteristics that lead to the presumption that this is a young female are the thick, heavy, dark markings and lack of white bib (throat). It sure was a beautiful owl! |
