| David Nelson and Steve Metz (several photos on owling.com) hiked up Miller Canyon to find this Mexican (race) Spotted Owl. Both of them sent me great photos of this owl (this one happens to be David's photo). Looking at some of the previous "California" race of Spotted Owl you should notice that this race is a slightly deeper or darker brown color. This is a beautiful photo any way you look at it and clearly shows the details of this bird. This photo was taken in May of 2009.
