Biology Section
A Biology for North and Central American Owls
A more in depth species account (than is in the Field notes section) for the North American owls can be found here. This includes a North/Central American range map for each of the owls. The text includes the owl’s description, defining characteristics, habitat, range, and life span. Conservation issues are discussed along with the general population status. General declines and protection status is also addressed where applicable.
The biology section here is intended to give a closer species specific look at the North American Owls. This section is intended to give much greater detail and an in depth look at the owls found in North America than can be found on the individual species pages. This section is intended for students or people who are interested in greater detail such as breeding biology or conservation issues. The descriptions give much greater identifying characteristics and discussions of the races.
