This Long-eared Owl was found sitting along the back bay in Newport Beach, California in November of 2007. This is certainly seemed an unusual place for this owl to show up. He was low, almost on the ground, and sitting out in the open. The Newport Back Bay is basically a marsh with very few trees and this bird was no more than 15 feet from the water's edge at high tide. |
