| This young Spectacled Owl was photographed by Steve Metz in March of 2009 in Gamboa, Panama. Two points of interest in this photo are first the color of a young Spectacled Owl and next the Orange-chinned Parakeet it is eating (very unusual). This is a very young bird with partial juvenile coloring remaining. A little bit younger and a nestling or very young fledgling is all white underneath with just a black facial disk. |
