Spotted Owl

This
female Northern Spotted Owl was really a pleasure to see. She was
with two young but not apparently threatened by us. This is always
a touchy situation since it is always possible that a wild animal
will think you are a danger to their young and attack you. We get
many emails here about owls attacking people who get too close to
a nest. Although we were cautious it was not the case here and this
female flew in very close to see us. Special thanks to Steven Pennington
who led us to see her. What a beautiful owl!
